| 2020 has brought so much unknown, uncertainty, and isolation to the families we serve at Safe Families for Children. Many jobs have been lost, evictions put in place, and financial strain has created fear and sometimes a loss of hope for our Safe Families community. Earlier this year, we were contacted by a single mother of 5 who had nowhere to turn. “Tiffany’s” family support had moved away, Covid-19 had affected her work, and she needed support for her children while she would be hospitalized during the birth of her 6th child. As we worked closely with Tiffany’s family, it became evident she did not have a safe vehicle for her growing family. Because of faithful volunteers like YOU, we were able to host her 5 children while she was in the hospital. Because of church and volunteer support like YOU, this family was provided baby supplies, food, and a safe vehicle to this family!
Our mission is to keep children safe in our community. This year, Safe Family volunteers hosted numerous children, community partners provided for the transportation needs of destitute mothers, and staff have built relationships with local school counselors! All of these initiatives happened because of your compassion! Your financial partnership allows us to continue serving the Quad Cities!
